Let us start at the beginning. I presume that you already have a product or service that you intend to promote with Google AdWords. If you still need to find or create a product - try MyGoal.com or NicheBot.com for ideas. Another way to get started is to join Clickbank or Commission Junction totally free. You can promote other people's products while you work on your own products. This is called Affiliate Marketing and can be your testing ground to find out if there is money to be made in the niche that you have chosen.

Google AdWords is the fastest way to test a marketing campaign because Google is the search engine of choice for most people. However the competition can be fierce and you can also use Yahoo! or many other pay per click options. My experience lie with Google AdWords and I will stick to what I know. I am certain that most of the basic principals will be the same for all the pay per click options.

I have also started with Affiliate Marketing in the beginning, but I believe you can only have real success on the Net once you have your own unique product or service. When I say unique I do not mean that special but different from the rest. There are probably thousand others that can teach you about Google Adwords, but I believe I am unique in the sense that I do it for free, it is my passion and I am prepared to give you personal assistance if needed (and I love gadgets). Do conversion tracking - even before a single sale! Adjust your AdWords campaign after testing. Modify and optimize your sales pages. Reap the ongoing financial benefit. Repeat the process with your next campaign.

Ok, I make it sound so easy and believe you me, it really is not that difficult. Even a middle-aged tired old engineer could master it in just a few months.
